One of the most important ways of taking care of your canary is to learn to READ his body language. To LISTEN to his messages.

As part of today’s lesson I want to share just a snippet from the new report. It’s an important issue that ALL canary owners should know.

It has to do with your canary’s respiratory system. More specifically, his nostrils. Now, some canary owners don’t even realize their canary has nostrils. But they are there, I promise. ;-)

Your canary’s nostrils are located at the top area of his beak. They may not be clearly visible under the feathers but they’re there.

I want you to intentionally take a look at your canary’s nostril area every day. Just take a quick look when you bring him his daily seed or water. It only takes about 2 seconds.

Make sure the area is clean and dry. Any nasal discharge is usually clear or yellowish and indicates a respiratory infection.

Also, look closely for any DRIED mucus around the nostrils. Dried mucus build up can actually plug the nostrils. If you ever see your bird breathing with his mouth open this should be one of the first things you check....to see if his nostrils are caked up and plugged with mucous. YUCK!

If necessary, you can gently clean this area with a warm moist cloth.

Look at the feathering ABOVE the nostrils too. When a canary sneezes, all the moisture shoots up, like a whale’s water spout. If this area is stained or moist your canary may have been sneezing which may indicate a respiratory problem.

This is just a tiny sample of the 27 symptoms that YOU as a caring canary owner MUST know. And I want you to know as much as possible so you can give your canary the best care.

I’m not exaggerating when I say that your knowledge of canary care truly is a matter of life or death for your pet bird. So, YES, in being completely truthful with you, I’d like to know why you haven’t gotten your copy of the LISTENING report.
