Here is what i feed my canary.

I give them boiled eggs cut in halves.
I give them them apple slices.
Broccoli.
I also give them graded carrots and
Mexican muffin called "mantecada"

The egg I try to give them every day putting in a fresh one every morning and removing it at night. During breeding time i give them a little of everything helping them keep strong. Egg should not be given the when they a feeding their newly hatched babies, make sure not to feed egg during the first two days, after that it is ok.
